Bike touring has many similarities to bushwalking. Bikepacking (a new term combining bike with backpacking) is very similar to overnight through walks with a focus on minimalistic gear, while fully loaded touring is similar to base camp hiking. We have been bike touring since our first unsupported tour from Lands End to John O’Goates in the UK in 2002.
