The Gold Creek Reservoir is approximately 20 km west of the Brisbane CBD at Brookfield. The dam spillway is the world's first concrete stepped spillway. The dam was completed in 1886 on Gold Creek to augment supplies from the recently completed Enoggera Reservoir. Unlike Enoggera, the Gold Creek Reservoir could supply water to the most elevated parts of Brisbane.
