This is an 18km walk in the Binna Burra area of Lamington NP. We will be on a graded track. The track is partly through rainforest while other sections are more open with eucalypt. The track passes Orchid Bower lookout and ends at Araucaria lookout—named after the hoop pines Araucaria cunninghamii, which can be viewed from the lookout. These hoop pine communities are a living representative of the Jurassic Age (the age of the conifers) about 180 million years ago. The Araucaria Lookout gives spectacular panoramas of the Springbrook Range and the Mount Warning Caldera.
